That’s right SMC Motorhomes Newark are taking part in the 2025 Newark Dragon Boat Festival to help raise money for Beaumond House Hospice Care & The Children’s Bereavement Centre.

£5 could pay for Afternoon tea and cake for one patient

£17 can pay for one hour of Bereavement Support

£18 will pay for a Day Therapy patient to have a home cooked three course lunch, nutritious snacks, teas and coffee during their day with us

£88 covers the cost of a Health Care Assistant to coordinate and run our Day Therapy activities

£138 could pay for one hour of In-patient care across our four bedded unit

£115 could pay for two Health Care Assistants in our Hospice at Home team to provide one hour of care in a patients home
How they supported the local community during the year 2023/24

2249 Day Therapy days supporting 186 different patients.

1157 nights of in-patient care supporting 93 patients with our rooms being occupied 95% of the time

How your donations will help the Children’s Bereavement Centre
£8.50 could help fund a comfort bear which is given to all the children accessing support
£15.30 could fund 10 memory jars which the children use in sessions
£25 could pay for one play therapy session for a child
£50 could buy crafts and toys to help children express their grief
£100 could pay for memory books to help children remember someone who has died
£200 could pay for 8 sessions of one-to-one bereavement support for a child
£360 could help fund a bereaved family programme which lasts four weeks
There Impact
· 95% improved their confidence and self-esteem
· 79% saw improvements at school and in their education
· 39% improved their friendships
· 70% saw improvements in their relationships with their family
· 71% feel safer
· 82% improved their feelings and behaviours
· 100% of children and their families benefited in some way
How they supported the local community during the year 2023/24
· 1,300 local children, young people and their parents/carers benefited from 1:1 bereavement support, counselling and/or group activities
· Group activities included a 2-day residential camp, Family Groups, Father’s Day workshop, monthly Peer Groups, Xmas Party and Candlelight Service
· 177 hours of telephone advice was provided
· 153 professionals and parents/ carers benefited from Bereavement & Loss training to help better support 100s of locally bereaved families
